Hi my name is Cassidy and I was born and raised in San Diego, but decided to head to the east coast for college and attend Lehigh as a way to gain new perspectives and meet new people. I am currently a senior majoring in biology. The past two summers I spent researching maternal health in West Africa and developing a venture that aims to integrate a UTI and preeclampsia screening device into the Sierra Leonean healthcare system. When I’m not studying or doing research, I enjoy cooking, going to the beach and travelling.

The Eckardt program made my transition into Lehigh an easy one. It connected me with great professors and introduced me to amazing people who have become some of my closest friends at Lehigh. The Eckardt program has supported and allowed me to pursue research I’m extremely passionate about.
